French 17th Century Strongbox Coffer

A rare antique French 17th century strongbox, safe, treasure chest or coffer from the Dordogne region. Thick oak planks over heavy iron strapping with three original locks, even with their original keys! Beautiful hand-forged iron hardware, including two large handles. Excellent condition with wonderful original patina. An exceptional piece.
