A striking oil-on-canvas of a Provencal village by Robert-Henri Claisse (1920-). Signed R. Claisse ’59 in the lower right corner. Lovely organic feel with thick brush strokes and deep, earthy colours. Framed in an earlier, very decorative, painted frame with lovely patina. This would be a stunning addition to any interior, traditional or contemporary.
